Pan's Labyrinth

OK, so I finally got to see Pan's Labyrinth and WHOA. Wait, I'm getting ahead of myself. Someone nice took me to the movies and paid for my ticket which is really cool for me seeing how it's been a long time since anyone has done that. Deb had mentioned the movie in a blog of hers so I had been keeping my eye out for it ever since.

I didn't realize that the movie was in subtitles but it's OK because I like subtitles and hearing the Spanish made the movie seem more mystical. I was surprised that the theater was packed and it kind of sucked because we had to sit in two of the only seats available on the right hand side of the front two rows and crook our necks back and up just to see the screen. We had to look up to see the pictures and look down to try and read the ginormous subtitles at the bottom of the screen. That's OK, it was still good. But to be quite honest, a lot of it went over my head and I was kind of surprised by that because I am pretty in tune to those kind of story lines.

I loved the scene with the flesh eating monster & the fairies - I won't ruin it for you. It was dark and mystical, I am totally going to buy it on DVD. Tonight, I get to see SAW 3 and I'm pretty excited about that too - yay for movies!
