Reunited

Hi. I am back on the net, using my very own new Dell Inspirion slim tower to rejoin the Internet community. Money hasn't changed, I was just sick of having to walk a few blocks for limited computer use at the library. I really love this new computer but I am having some problems figuring out how to configure my printer and other things like downloads with this Windows Vista. AOL offered 6 months free Internet service which I am using, once I am in the black again so to speak I will have Comcast hook up a cable connection and give this crappy dial up stuff the boot. My brain is kinda fried from trying to set up all this stuff so I will post more soon. :)

Just Checking In

This library sucks but it's really better than nothing at all. My neighbor and friend brought me here today after we went out for groceries. Things are tight financially still and probably will be for awhile so unless a hard drive falls out of the sky my posts are going to remain few and far in between.

The kid is back in school, she missed her first day. It's been a scramble to get back on the school track and because of the budget she didn't get any shiny new clothes for school yet. I know she knows I will buy her a ton as soon as I can but it still sucks and I feel pretty crappy about it.

I have been reading a lot and read "The Western Guide to Feng Shui" and it was super interesting and I made a lot of changes in my home, I am hoping they help. Honestly, I just feel better so if that's all these changes help that's OK too!

Thanks to everyone that's been checking in on me. I would say call me sometime but my purse & cell and that important stuff you're not supposed to keep in your wallet was stolen from me - Grrr! That's OK though it will work out it always does. Stay well :)

Thank Gosh for Flock

Sometimes I really hate logging into web pages, I have so many screen names and passwords that it's nice not to have to deal with cookies or constant ID entry. I use Flock to upload all my pictures to Flickr and Photobucket, I use it to read RSS feeds, organize bookmarks and blog. It's a pretty cool we browser you should check it out if these kinds of things are important to you.

It's my day off today so it's been a day of watching "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" season two on dvd via the computer, unfortunately I buggered up my WinDVD right at the beginning of the season finale. I've just been downloading all kinds of virus programs and error fixers since then.

There is also an injured pigeon on my patio, evidently a neighbor girl saw it eating another dead bird and threw a rock at it. I think it has a broken wing.. Can pigeons have rabies? Don't they carry diseases like rats? Or is that just urban legend? I am not sure so the kid and I aren't going to touch it.

***Update:
I misheard the pigeon wasn't eating another bird, evidently a GIANT bird of some kind flew out of the sky and attacked the pigeon trying to eat it. Another pigeon was killed and the carcass was carried off by feral cats later in the evening. The pigeon stayed on my patio looking quiet hurt for a couple of hours before I called animal control. AC suggested I put a box over the pigeon to protect it from the cats, I found the top of an animal cage in my closet and an animal control officer was buy within about thirty minutes to pick it up. I hope it's ok and that they don't kill it unless necessary.

Work is going well. I had a visit from the district manager and he said boss is happy with how I am doing *YAY* In other things I went on a date with a guy from a neighboring cart, it was *sigh* typical and I feel kinda gipped. Alas, the life that is mine.

I have bought a new monitor and I just LOVE it. You see, I had too when my very old and dusty not to mention crusty Compaq piece of crap laptop died. It literally died. No operating system to be found and no installing one because apparently my hard drive decided to crawl out of it's old shell in search of a new and younger piece of crap laptop shell.

I initially looked at monitors at Best Buy before Christmas and they only had a few choices which didn't excite me, then I made the mistake of going to Fry's Electronics. Never again, NEVER again - I don't even want to talk about it. I tried Best Buy's again and picked up a better monitor at a better price and voila! I am happy and online again. It's a 19" wide screen LCD monitor from LG, I am no longer in the stone ages folks and it feels great :)

Now, thanks to everyone who has been worried about my spider bite! It's gone, it took awhile but it was infected pretty bad. We get a lot of spiders here from black widows, hobo/funnel web spiders and more so I am pretty used to them. I had to remove the infection and once that happened my elbow healed up instead of falling off. I like my elbow.
