I think I have used that title more than once in my blogging life it's sad to say. I am not going to complain or bitch or rant but isn't it hard living with family or other people even for that matter. All of this moving stuff is still so new to me, I am not sure how to act - I am still trying to get my feet for that matter. I hope I get that job I interviewed for, I will be hearing about that on Thursday so please think good thoughts. We miss our cats (we had to find homes for them) but my sister and her family has two small dogs, one is really cuddly. My friend Sarah took Moe (our hairless rat) which was a God send because everyone else I talked to wanted to feed him to their snake or who knows maybe worse.
The cold weather is nice and I remember always hating snow until now, of course I am still not driving. We can't wait to get out bus passes so we don't have to rely on the family to help us around. It's an uncomfortable situation when you feel like you are always relying on someone else for everything in your life. Especially, when you have the natural need to take charge of your own existence. *pPhHizZle* I cried all last night, but I am better now. For now.

I'm still kickin'
Just not biting and scratching no more (lol.) All is well in the world of Linda, I just am still without a computer. I am using the sponsor/friend's computer so I am going to cut this short. Oh and Bluehippo.com sucks.
The Devil is in the Details
So. It has been my standard in the past to start things without finishing them. Half arsed has been a personal and unspoken motto of sorts. I emptied out all but 1/4 of my apt with great enthusiasm and now I am left with cleaning and all that other crap I don't want to do. Like, set up a storage unit for my 20" double pillow top queen size Serta & 32" television. Or, taking my books to the local used bookstore OR setting up the disconnect on my land line telephone account. I guess I should probably go set up a cell phone but who has the time? I'm very busy not doing any of these things and writing in my little journal. Ack!
Thank goodness, I did unload some groceries and a queen size bed. Now, if that lady would only come and pick up the dining table and desk chair she bought... And at least, I gave the Comcast lady her cable box back. Oh, and I went to a Halloween party last night - yep, that was important! *hehe*

Day Four
It's day four, that my daughter is "missing." I use this terminology because it's not the first time it's happened. My daughter has been wanting to emancipate herself for some time now, I am more than willing to sign the papers. I have no more. I am tapped. No mother wants this but at the same time I have nothing more to give for the current situation. Everyone I know takes from me, no one is happy with what they get but yet they take, take, take and take. I am done. Everything is changing. I might even move out of my apartment after selling everything. I am not sure where I am going from here. I have no one but myself. It's a long story that I won't tell here but people, especially men can't be trusted. You could have told me that, I am sure. I knew it but still. Plus, I was let go from my job because I couldn't set "enough" appointments. I updated more records and had a ton of call backs and future appointments but I was told I wouldn't be needed until two weeks from yesterday.
Okay, I had it.
Yesterday, after my first day of training at my new job I waited for my daughter to show her face. She doesn't do much of that around here anymore. She's had a lock on her room which has no key and travels in and out her bedroom window. Chaos has stricken our little family. Of course, this is all happening while I had been trying to find a job. Of course. Anywhoo, long story short between coming home whenever she feels like it and not going to school and throwing out things that are mine or our food, I have had it. Last night, I heard someone in her room and waited for who I thought was my daughter to come out. It was not. It was her best friend who I demanded tell me where my daughter was. "Outside." I took that opportunity to take the locking door knob off her door and put a lock on her window. It was then that her friend ran outside to tell her. Her room was in shambles, sifted through, things taken down from the walls. I had to wonder what she was up too? Moving out? Running away? So, because it's been on my mind for awhile I reported my daughter to the county sheriffs for behavioral problems and reported her missing as well. The officer and I agree she is most likely at a friends and in no danger but this behavior has to stop. No matter how, it has to stop.
Now It's Time To Buckle Down
Poo! But it's true, it's now time to buckle down and work on getting some of my past due bills and debt paid down. I haven't even received my first check and I know where it's going! The time has come for me to work on growing up and getting ahead financially instead of always floating check to check. It's going to get easier everyday now but it's still a long bumpy road!
In other things, my daughter has been refusing to go to school for some time now. She's done everything including pretend to go to out right taking off or locking herself in her room. I've talked to her school several times about this and what it comes down to is no truant officer. I am going to have to call the police myself to make her go to school.. I am not sure how this is all going to work out but we are also trying to get her re-accepted into home school but honestly, I don't really think that's the answer. My daughter is an ass. She only thinks of herself and what she wants and for a long time now nothing I provide is good enough and she is going to do what she's going to do. So from now on, it's going to be a fight head to head. I am done with all this mess she puts me through. Poop on teenagers!

I'm Just a Bad Person (for not Blogging)
Hey everyone! (If there is anyone still around.)
I am here. I've been here.. well sorta here just not writing in my little online diary. I just kinda needed another one of my notorious hiatusessss *spelling. I have some free time this evening so I thought I would tie myself to my desk chair and force out an entry. Now, it's not that I don't want to talk to you, it's just that I am having a problem with commitment lately of all kinds. Quite frankly, I have a short attention span that often develops into a flaky behavioral pattern. Anywhoo, here's the lowdown on some of the things going on in my little world.
Flashback to April 6Th!! My birthday (and the day the food court opened in the mall - woo.) I spent the whole week pretty much working employee-less and working from open 10am to close 9pm by myself stuck in one spot at my kiosk. That's not so bad you say? Try getting up at 7am to get ready for work, leaving at 8:30am to walk to your bus stop which you won't catch until 9:00am and getting to work half an hour early only to get bathroom breaks and sell sell sell until 9:00pm and then run to your bus stop to get home at about 10:30pm. That was like a majorly long run on sentence and I didn't even include the part about walking down the home street with no streetlights or a sidewalk on your sore tootsies. Oh yeah, back to my birthday - I had to work, I was sick (first time in forever) and the best part of the work day was a security officer bought me a chocolate bar (even though I don't like chocolate) from Sees candy and I got diarrhea seeing how I ate it considering I was starving.
When I got home, Angel and her BFF had balloons inflated and my room decorated. They also had a carrot cake (my favorite) and sang "Happy Birthday" to me. Plus I got a Nolie soft three quarter length sleeve t-shirt which I adore. Ooh! I almost forgot another highlight was a dear friend from Israel sang "Happy Birthday" to me in Hebrew!!! and I got a kiss on the cheek - can't beat that with a stick if you ask me!
Work - Is going pretty OK. It's had it's ups & downs. I love my job and my new employees it's just been a hassle getting everything together and learning how to be the sole manager of a business of which many people mistake me as the owner of. I really want to perfect myself in this role and see it succeed, at least we have exceeded our monthly sales goal each month I managed.
The Kid - is turning 16! on the 14! I am running crazy trying to come up with something special (because I can't give her a car like she requested.) I hope it's a good birthday nonetheless! Time is just flying by and pretty soon she will be off on her own and that will make me terrible sad :(

Do the Darn Dishes!
Life has been a series of errand running type moments. I have interviewed for and turned down a job. I have filed my taxes and need to run back to pick up the check. I have ran a block down the street with a laundry basket in my arms and I really need to do the darn dishes! Every morning someone calls me sharply on the dot. It might be 8am or 9am and then again at 10:30am, this morning I refused to answer the phone so that I could sleep in for a minute. I really needed the sleep seeing how I've had arm under my neck causing this horrible crick from time to time. *sigh* It felt good to get some rest rest.
When filling my taxes with the same elderly woman I have for years, I found myself the object of an odd statement. I said to the woman: "Thanks for squeezing me in *******" and she responded with "No problem you're fast, in more ways than one!"
------------------------------------------------------------
Last night, I dreamt that there was a room full of people standing around trying figure out what to do with the heart like item that each of us held. There was another person walking around telling each person what to do with it. Some people had figurines, some had stuffed hearts, some had plastic heart shapes and this person seemed to know what to do with each of them. So he/she walked around sticking hearts on a sleeve with tape, putting a heart in a back pocket etc etc. My heart I had given to a person. My heart was on a wooden jewelry box that I painted pink with glitter and I glued on a little red heart shape. I gave this jewelry box bearing my heart to a person who hated it. In fact, this person showed it to two other people who also ridiculed it, calling it nothing. I woke after yelling at these three "horrible mean assholes." I also yelled how I took the time to craft this piece just for the person I gave it to in mind, I woke up crying. I hate it when I wake up crying.

Standing Still
I figured it was time to catch up on some of the real things going on in my life. I am now officially ready to start looking for that part time job. I am nowhere near close to being finished with my bedroom cleaning however, I haven't even touched it in the past few days. The paperwork for my medical aid/application for that 3 day hospital stay is in (let's hope I get approved.)
I tried to BBQ tonight but didn't really have enough charcoal soo... I only did two ears of corn on the cob & two potatoes. I cooked the marinated chicken wings inside, but I didn't realize the wing tips should have been removed until after I marinated them. We ordered bread, soda and jalapeno poppers from my favorite pizza place "What-a-Pizza!" to go with the chicken wings (with wing tips) potatoes, corn and salad. My daughter told me tonight however, she is now as I was at her age anti-meat-on-the-bone.
I finally caught up with a former co-worker/friend, I don't really think I am going to hear from anyone I used to be friends/co-workers with anymore. That's OK, there comes a time when people need a break. This break has felt really good to me, I've been focusing on finding my center again - I lose it from time to time. I'm still having my fun though, catching up with other friends, going out for lunch and getting in some evening television.
The girl and I have been hanging out together, watching shows together (like Beauty & The Geek) and spending much needed mom/daughter time with each other. The apartment is clean, the bills are being caught up on, meals are actually being prepared/cooked inside the home and it's warm & quiet.

Dear Friend,
Things have been so crazy here. Angel is suspended today for being marked absent too many times in the morning class. She's not really ever absent she just misses roll call so it's absent/tardy. She was supposed to go to Saturday detention and never told me so she's suspended today. Grr! That kid, I tell you what but really she's not bad - in fact, she's a pretty good daughter to have tardy or not. She's also still growing like a weed, if it's not her hair down to her tush it's her legs up to her neck... *sigh*
The work thing hasn't changed. I did talk to my "Mom" yesterday after church and I told her about my idea to take online courses for medical billing, I really want to be a stay at home Mom right now. After all, Angel isn't going to be around forever and I want her to remember me as a good Mom, not the Mom who was always at work. I think it's a good idea, I really really want to do this, what do you think?
Valentine's day is coming up, I am pretty excited. I am going to make the traditional pink heart shaped pancakes for the kiddo because she likes those so much. I think I am going to buy a case of Sweethearts too so she can give them out at school and some deflated heart shaped balloons (need to use that helium tank in my closet.)
Let's see, what else? I've mostly just been taking care of the house. This time off has been nice, I feel more centered being at home. I forgot that when I was growing up all I ever wanted to be was a Mom, someone who was always there to cook breakfast, comfort a cold and just love my child. I really think if anything I am only going to take a part time job in some tiny place and concentrate on the online courses. I want to be here for my daughter until she finally decides to leave home (God forbid.)
Anyway, that about wraps it up. Take care and don't forget to write me back and tell me how you have been!
Love always,
Linda

Dream Houses

(The Builder of Houses & Dreams - Barbara Olsen)
Some years ago I ordered "Bea's Mini Guide to Making Artist's Journals" - by Keri Smith, it came with a cute magnet and little things like that. Today, I am going to take a journal tip from the mini-guide. I am going to write about my dream house.
When I was a kid:
I dreamt of a two story house with a white picket fence, cheesy I know. It stood against a clear insanely blue sky, clouds were intermittent and torn apart, the grass was thick and green almost gone wild. I had a horse in the yard, something chestnut & gorgeous. The house was the only house as far as the eye could see, because it was just me and my family in this perfect house.
Not Many Years Ago:
I would have taken anything. Most of my life I didn't live in a house or even an apartment. My family was always moving, in hotels, motels, RVs and things of the like. I dreamt for ANY house.
Now:
I would love to have a home to share and leave to my daughter someday. Not a two story because I think they are creepy frankly and stairs daunt me. Maybe, a ranch style place on an acre. Somewhere I could have all kinds of animals because I do love them soo much. Cats, chickens, perhaps a lively pooch and a bot bellied pig. Fish tanks and bird cages. Plants would fill every room. It would be awesome to paint the walls with COLORS. I LOVE color. I love color, plants and pets and above all I LOVE my daughter. My dream home is a place that is safe, filled with love and a place she knows she can always come home too.

One Hand Behind My Back
I've been trying to use this "free time" to get some of the things in my life done that have been eating away at me for some time. Things like go through bills, sort paperwork, update personal files, create a new resume, clean my room (which could take an extensive amount of time in itself) and just regroup so to speak.
I feel like I am almost wearing myself out more than going to work at a real job. There is laundry to do, errands to run, paperwork, medical bills/house hold bills to deal with, dishes, meals to cook PLUS I should be finding a new job as I am sitting here typing this.
But with all things that have to do with me, I can't because of something else. I was trying to write my new resume for two days now however, I am waiting on when past managers can give me work dates etc since I didn't keep proper records etc. etc.. Which holds me back from actually applying for a new position with any company since my information may not be accurate. Everything takes time no matter how much I push. No matter how hard I try, I am one person and I always seem to be working with one hand tied behind my back.
Sometimes I really wish that I had a significant other, a partner in my life. I don't expect anyone to cater to me or carry my weight, it would just be wonderful to know that someone else had a soft spot in their heart just for me. Sure, I have friends. The church. It's also just not the same. Recently, one of of my Internet friends told me I am hard to console because I am just hard in general. I am tired of being seen as this tough cookie who has been around the block. I tire of carrying the weight of everything on my shoulders. I have been saying all of this for a very long time I know and quite honestly, I don't think it's ever going to change.
It's crazy because so many people in life pretend not to judge, yet they still do. Looking at me, after interacting with me, I feel the personification of who they think I am being forced upon me. It's OK. Someday, someone will see me for who I really am. Anywhoo, I didn't mean to get all weird and "deep" like I do sometimes. I guess I am just frustrated, there is SOO much to do.
I listed some examples of things that I want to sell on eBay and that link is posted to the right under "diary index." I don't really think it's the right forum for what I have (which is invitations, entire party sets, toys, key chains, party favors, party bags, fall related items, garlands, Halloween favors etc) plus the photos which my daughter took on her digicam came out really dark and for some reason I can't get my photo shop to reload with my serial number on my computer to fix it... If you have any suggestions on how I can list these kinds of items for sale please leave me a comment!! Thanks to Christy for explaining the consignment sale to me on your page!

I got something really awesome in the mail yesterday! I got the earrings I ordered from Elaine of Oyworks! It really was the highlight of my week! I ordered the awesome "Chip on My Shoulder" earrings and found the other set I was pining over "Center of My Universe" tucked away as a special surprise inside the pretty little brown ribbon wrapped box. - Thanks Elaine for what you said (it was very sweet) and for more of that tea I LOVE - Sausalito Spice MmM! I had some last night and this morning. Thanks again you rock!!

Frosty Morning
Now that I have this new monitor and the kid got a digital camera (nothing fancy) during Christmas, I am going to have to buy myself a digital camera as well. I think that's what this little diary of mine really needs.
I woke up earlier this morning around eight and decided to just lay in bed for an hour or so more. Sometimes, it's just really nice to wake up early when you don't have too and just appreciate that quiet time when you don't have to do anything. I just love the way my sheets feel, extra worn in and with my down comforter I hardly ever want to get out of bed.
But, I did. I took the garbage outside and I saw that there was frost on the grass and that the sunshine looked clear and sharp enough to cut glass. I love mornings like these.
---------------Now something fun.
Lisanne recently searched her birthdate on Wikipedia.org so I thought I would in turn do the same. Here are some of the slightly interesting things I found out regarding my birthdate: April 6th.

- Earliest solar eclipse recorded by the Ancient Greeks. (648 BC) - Ooh Aah!
- The poet Petrarch first sees his idealized love, Laura, in the church of Saint Clare in Avignon. (1327) - I find this very romantic :)
- Napoleon abdicates. He is then exiled to Elba. (1814) - Interesting..
- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is organized by Joseph Smith, Jr. at Fayette, New York. (1830)
- In Athens, the opening of the first modern Olympic Games 1,500 years after being banned by Roman Emperor Theodosius I. (1896)
- World War I: United States declares war on Germany. (1917)

Okay, so at first the date of my birth starts out pretty good but hits all kinds of rough spots as well. At least I know when Teflon was discovered now...
Happy New Year!!!
Although I don't celebrate New Year's Eve, I wish everyone a happy and full-filling year in 2007! I hope that each year of your life is prosperous and joyful! I did what I usually do on New Year's Eve, I hung out by myself, puttered around a bit, ordered a mushroom/artichoke pizza and went to bed early. The kid was out at a family friend's having a blast while I was awaken (as usual) to the sound of fireworks, noisemakers and everyone in the neighborhood yelling "Happy New Years!!"
Today has been a rather quiet day off, I don't really plan on doing much outside of sleeping and eating. I did make some yummy tacos with this awesome taco filling by "Fantastic World Foods." I think if I served up tacos to all my meat lover friends they wouldn't notice the difference right away and might actually enjoy them as much as I did.
My elbow is still swollen from the spider bite, it's rather red and aches at times.. I wonder how long a spider bite can stick around without becoming worrisome?

Hello Lambchop
I have been gone from my little diary waaay too long, it's my desktop PC's dead monitor's fault. My monitor has finally died and I am using my old dusty crusty laptop until I find the new LCD monitor that I can afford. Christmas ate a serious chunk of change out of my pocket but that's ok money grows in there.
My Christmas was really good actually. My daughter invited her best friend over on Christmas Eve and my "Mom" came over as well. We had a table spread of vegetable lasagna, a veggie tray, home made fudge, three kinds of crackers, dip and eggnog. After eating (without the girls who where busy living in a toxic cloud of Chanel and Final Net) we started taking photos and opening gifts. Then we all squeezed into the back of Mom's tiny black truck with one jump seat and went to candlelight communion at our church. I had been sick all week so once I started trying to sing I broke out in a terrible cough and had to sit to calm my throat and then could only mouth the words.
I was sick because I walked home in the pouring rain without an umbrella, it had caught me unexpecting. I was walking home in the rain because I am once again without a car. Yes, I spent most of 2006 breaking the same foot and crashing cars. Don't worry, I am ok I only spent three days in the hospital and nothing was broken. I did learn however, I am seriously depleted of potassium much more so than the normal person.
My New Year's resolution for 2007 is too not break my foot or crash any more cars. What's yours?

Pretty as Puke
Thanksgiving - We went to eat in an older place in Sacramento that specializes in pink chandeliers, old people, green velvet and painting covered walls. We had turkey or ham, mashed potatoes & gravy, sage dressing, green beans, yams, salad or soup, cranberry cups and punkin pie all for the low price of $8.49. It was a chillax day, I was just glad as always my daughter smiled and didn't do the typical-teenager-I hate-you-thing.
Work - I am still sitting as primary cashier. I can walk pretty close to normal with the walking cast on, which will come off November 30th! - Can't wait!!!
I Love You - (You found my heart in a bale of hay) Actually, "Prairie Song" by Pretty as Puke (thanks Bing.) Just recently the fourth anniversary of my daughter's father death passed. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I cried and cried the night before. It was a mess with "Gods & Monsters" not to mention, calling 911 on my neighbors about four times. Got to love a guy willing to beat a girl to get to his girl who doesn't want to see him. Yeah. "Our prairie love is too good to be true~"

Daily Life
It's been hard pushing myself not to be such a lazy ass. Seriously. I mean, everyone can justify it right? I know I can, I work hard, lead a hard life... However, the one thing that keeps me motivated (as much as I am) is the fact that I am a mom. My daughter seems so almost grown and I always feel like I am just barely getting to the age of having to grow up, that makes it tough.
However, I have kept pushing even with the cast on. With just little things, like cooking one meal a day or washing the dishes. Actually, today I washed dishes, vac'd (I don't really know how to spell vacuum note the abbreviation) cooked dinner, picked up my room... It's been like that for awhile now, I am even trying to stay up on mail. I hate mail, I hate the kind of mail that is bills and junk anyway! Won't someone just send me a lettter geesh!?
I know it's sooo far away but I am on count down for turning 31. My goal is to be promoted to assistant store manager before my birthday......... (cue dramatic dun dun duh music here.)

Taking Advantage of Time
I am getting around better on my crutches so I am trying to get some minor things done at home while I have this "time." So far I have: fixed my front door knob, hung the fallen sliding glass door blinds, replaced broken switch plates, installed a door knob on my bedroom door, cleaned out bills/paperwork, talked to bill collectors, removed myself from calling lists/mailing lists, defraged my computer, tweazed my eyebrows and cleaned my room.
I have also locked myself out of car before I had a copy made - that was pricey. I am also just adoring this cute new layout :) I can sit at the computer longer now, so I will be able to read blogs and comment once again! Yay!
P.S. Thanks to everyone for the well wishes!
